Buyers Guide about Choosing Binoculars for Someone who has Small face & Narrow Set Eyes

There are two factors that you should always consider when buying binoculars for someone who has a small face or a narrow set of eyes. In the section below I will explain all of those factors so that buying binoculars becomes easier for you.

1- Size

Trust me or not size is one of the most important aspects that you never look at when buying binoculars.  Choosing a binocular that is not compact is just like putting your money at risk.

When purchasing binoculars for someone with a small face, it is important to select a pair that is very compact and has barrels that are close together rather than far apart. This will ensure a comfortable and secure fit.

2- Field of View

While shopping for binoculars for my nephew, I came across many compact binoculars that had a disappointing field of view.

I would recommend not choosing binoculars that do not provide a wide enough field of view. For a person with a narrow set of eyes, I suggest binoculars that provide at least 300 feet of field of view.

3- Optical Performance

I don’t need to tell you that optical performance is also important for giving you an excellent viewing experience. In most of my previous guides, I have always focused on using binocular that is optically sound.

But the question might come to your mind: what makes a binocular optically good? The question is valid. Here are some things to look for:

  • High-quality glass lenses
  • Multi-layer lens coatings
  • Minimal chromatic aberration

These features will help to ensure that your binoculars provide clear, sharp images with minimal distortion.

4- Ease of usability

As I said earlier, I bought a Binocular for my nephew with a small face so I experience different things that I am going to share in this guide.

I have seen many people complaining that their binoculars cause pain and suppress their eyes. it is because of the fact that they usually ignore the importance of ease of usability.

I highly recommend you buy a binocular that is comfortable and easy to use for a far extended duration. For example, you suggest you choose binoculars that are pretty compact, lightweight, and have an ideal eye relief of at least 15 mm.

5- Interpupillary Distance

This is a very important factor and many people don’t know much about it. The interpupillary distance is the space between your eyes.  Let me give you the exact definition of IPD (Interpupillary distance).

The IPD is the distance between the centers of the pupils of the eyes. It is typically measured in millimeters. Most binoculars come with interpupillary distance ranging from 56 mm to 72 mm.

It is important to check the IPD before purchasing binoculars for someone who has a smaller face. You must know about the space or interpupillary distance of your eyes to ensure that you don’t buy binoculars that don’t fit your eyes properly.

6- Test Binoculars at the Shop

It is of utmost importance to test binoculars before purchasing them. Never make the mistake of not checking or inspecting them in the store. If the shopkeeper is not willing to let you test them, I highly recommend that you do not buy them from him.

People who have small faces usually don’t find binoculars on the first try. So you should make sure that you check two or three binoculars and then make a final decision after testing and inspecting the binoculars at the shop.

1- Celestron – Outland X Binoculars

Celestron – Outland X Binoculars

As I said earlier, compact binoculars are very good for those who have small faces, so these Celestron binoculars are compact in size yet they offer perfect performance at affordable pricing.

The optical performance of these binoculars is excellent. The lenses are made of high-quality glass and have multiple anti-reflective coatings, which ensure that users get bright, clear images in all lighting conditions.

One of the things that I appreciate most about these binoculars is their affordable price. No other binoculars on the market offer such amazing features for outdoor enthusiasts at this price point. Additionally, the binoculars are relatively lightweight, which further enhances their overall value.

If you are purchasing binoculars for someone with a small face and a small set of eyes, you should select binoculars with optimal eye relief. The good news is that these binoculars include 17 mm of eye relief, which makes them incredibly pleasant to use for lengthy periods of time.

Most of the time I use binoculars in different outdoor conditions from hot sunny days to any conditions. I believe that almost every outdoor in this waste does this as viewing nature is not restricted by the weather condition.

But the good thing is that you get nitrogen gas purging and o-ring sealing with these binoculars. This ensures that your binocular will be secured against moisture and fog that can go inside the binocular and contaminate the lenses.

Pros

  • Lightweight
  • Affordable pricing
  • Lightweight, and easy to carry

Cons

  • The build quality of these binoculars could have been slightly better.

Personal Opinion

There is no doubt that these binoculars are very easy to use for extended duration even if you have a small face. But, the build quality of these binoculars is not as good as one may expect from them. But the pricing is also on the lower side which compensates for the slightly compromised build quality. I would say it is a decent option for someone who has a tight budget.

2- NIKON Monarch M5 10×42 Binoculars

NIKON Monarch M5 10x42 Binoculars

If you ask me what I prioritize the most when buying a new bino, I will say that I give the highest importance to the binocular’s optical performance. The reason for this is that a binocular’s optical performance significantly affects the quality of the images it gives you.

Guess what, the visual quality of these Nikon M5 binos is something that helps these binoculars stand out in this guide. The eco-friendly glass material is used in the lenses, and multiple coating layers are also applied.

Due to the presence of coating lenses, the loss of light gets minimized, and you tend to see brighter and sharper visuals. If you’re going to use binos in low light conditions, then I highly recommend you to go with these Nikon M5 binos.

Let’s talk about the ease of usability. These binos are lightweight, and their size is compact which will perfectly fit on your smaller face. If your face is smaller and thinner chances are high that the eyes will also be narrower – there would be lesser distance between two eyes.

The good thing is that the barrels of these binoculars are not very far from each other. It means that you won’t have to face any difficulty while using them on your smaller or thinner face. For me, these are the best Binoculars for small faces with narrow-set eyes.

Water and fog proofing is also decent as they are purged with nitrogen gas and sealed with o-ring sealing. So, even if you use them in rainy weather, the water won’t be able to go inside the binos.

Pros

  • Lightweight and simple to use
  • Ideal optical performance
  • Strong body with rugged construction

Cons

  • Well, these binos are one of my top picks – and I did not find any problem with them.

Personal Opinion

I’ve been using these binos for the last 1.5 years – and I never faced any sort of issue at all. I highly recommend you buy them if you’ve a handsome budget, and want to get perfect visual quality.

3- ZEISS Terra ED Pocket Binoculars Compact Binoculars

ZEISS Terra ED Pocket Binoculars Compact Binoculars

Zeiss is a well-known optics brand, and if you’re an experienced person, I am sure that you’ve already used Zeiss binos. However, if you’ve not used it till now, maybe it is time for you to give them a try.

They are very compact in size, and the weight is also on the lower side which ensures that you’ll be able to use them comfortably for an extended duration. These binos will easily fit on your small face with a narrow set of eyes.

The optical performance of these optics is fine. You will be able to see everything clearly in daylight conditions. However, the lowlight usability is not ideal though. If you aim to use binos in low-light conditions, I recommend you skip them.

The eye relief of 16mm is going to give you the easiness. Keep in mind that when you use a bino with adjustable eyecups or ideal eye relief, then there remains a decent distance between your eyes and the eyepiece of binoculars.

Due to this distance, you tend to see everything pleasantly. The central focus system is present in these binoculars which allow you to see the moving target efficiently. The focus knob is very smooth and easy to rotate.

Pros

  • Lightweight and easy to carry
  • Perfect fit on smaller faces
  • Ideal eye relief of 16mm
  • Smooth focusing system

Cons

  • Built quality is slightly compromised
  • No lifetime warranty

My Personal Opinion

No doubt that these binos are very good options available in the market. I highly recommend these to someone who prefers easy-to-use, simple, lightweight, and compact binos. However, their build quality has not impressed me.

4- Nikon Trailblazer 8×25 Binoculars

Nikon Trailblazer 8x25 Binoculars

During my research, I came to know that these Nikon Trailblazer binoculars are a suitable option for those people who have a narrow set of eyes. But I personally don’t recommend you to buy them due to multiple reasons.

Although their size is compact and fits perfectly on a smaller face, these binos are not comfortable especially if you use them for extended duration. For example, these binos have an eye relief of just 10mm which is poor.

Moreover, the lowlight usability is also compromised due to the usage of smaller-sized objective lens sizes. However, the prices of these binoculars are a lower size which is attracting people who have tight budgets.

These were the reasons that I did not like. But there are a few good things. These optics come with a wider field of view of almost 430 feet which is considered ideal. The optical performance is also optimal which ensures that the users get decent images when using them in daylight conditions.

The body of these binoculars is also stronger – and you won’t feel like you’re having cheaper binos in your hands. The high-quality rubber armor material has been used in their making which gives them enough durability.

Pros

  • Durable body
  • Sleek and attractive design
  • Lightweight and compact
  • Optimal visual quality

Cons

  • Eye relief is compromised
  • The lowlight usability is also poor

My Personal Opinion

I consider them not to buy binoculars! The reason is that they won’t give you a comfortable viewing experience for an extended duration. However, if you like lightweight and compact options at affordable pricing, this can be a good option for you. Go at your own risk!

5- Fujinon Techno-Stabi TS-X 14×40 Image Stabilization Binoculars

Fujinon Techno-Stabi TS-X 14x40 Image Stabilization Binoculars

Do you have a tight budget, if yes, then these binoculars are not suitable for you. The reason is that these binos belong to the premium category and a handsome budget is needed to buy them.

However, if you’re on a budget, then I highly recommend you buy them because of the fact that they will uplift your viewing experience. These bones consist of image stabilization features that make them stand out.

The weight is slightly on the higher side, but the size of the barrel is very user-friendly. The barrels will easily fit your eyes quite comfortably. The eye relief is also optimal which is also a plus.

The build quality is decent as they are made with high-quality rubber material. The usage of strong material ensures that these binos are very much capable of bearing shocks and falls.

The optical performance is also fine. You won’t notice any chromatic aberration in the visuals. However, the lowlight usability is slightly compromised. I believe this is due to the smaller-sized objective lens size.

Pros

  • Image stabilization feature
  • Nitrogen gas purging and o-ring sealing
  • The size is decent and fits perfectly on the smaller face

Cons

  • Lowlight usability is under par.
  • Weight is also on the higher side.
  • The prices are too high.

My Personal Opinion

If you have shaky hands, then I highly recommend you buy them. But the price of these Fujinon binos is too high, which is a real concern for me. In terms of performance, you won’t face any issues.

6- Steiner Safari UltraSharp Binoculars for Small Faces

Steiner Safari UltraSharp Binoculars

These binoculars are quite similar to the previously reviewed Zeiss Terra ED binoculars due to their compact size and optimal optical performance. It is a nice option for those people who have a tight budget.

But our purpose is to find a binocular for someone who has a small face and a narrow set of eyes. So, are the barrels of these binoculars close to each other? The answer is YES, due to their compact size, their barrels are positioned in a way that they will easily fit on your face.

When I was researching and finding binoculars for my nephew, I tested these Steiner UltraSharp binoculars and I was truly impressed by their build quality. Although the rubber armor material has been used – the quality of this material is very good.

Even if you throw them from a serious height, they won’t show any wear and tear at all. Water and fog proofing is also optimal which gives a peace of mind that if they go into the water or you use them in rain, they won’t get damaged.

Zeiss binos did not come with a lifetime but these Steiner optics come with a question-asked lifetime warranty which is a great peace of mind. Another attractive point is these binos also come with additional accessories which is another plus.

Pros

  • Lightweight and easy to use
  • Water and fog proofing
  • Lifetime warranty
  • Perfect fit for a person with a small face.

Cons

  • Due to the smaller objective lens size, the lowlight usability is compromised

My Personal Opinion

If you liked the Zeiss, but your budget is tight, you can buy these Steiner optics as they are as good as the previous Zeiss binoculars. Apart from low light usability, these binoculars would give you optimal performance.
